Special Programme to Be Held at Bharati Bhavan on Friday

Lucknow: The 350th martyrdom anniversary of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji Maharaj will be commemorated with great devotion and respect on Friday at 6 PM at Bharati Bhavan, the RSS office. The event is being organised for the sixth consecutive year under the guidance of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) to strengthen its outreach among the Sikh community.
According to Prashant Bhatia, treasurer of the Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Seva Samiti, volunteers of the RSS will welcome Sri Guru Granth Sahib Maharaj in full uniform with traditional ghosh (band performance). Devotees from several districts of Awadh, including saints and representatives from various communities, will gather to seek blessings during the special diwan.
A grand procession will bring Guru Maharaj’s swaroop to the venue, accompanied by the band of Dashmesh Public School, Panj Pyare, and committees of major Gurudwaras—Alambagh, Sadar, Naka, Aiyaganj, Ashiyana, Gomti Nagar and others. The sangat will shower flowers as the holy scripture arrives at Bharati Bhavan.
The programme will feature path of Sodar Rehras Sahib and kirtan by the Kendra Singh Sabha, Gurudwara Alambagh. Sardar Bajinder Pal Singh, representing Guru Gobind Singh Study Circle, Ludhiana, will deliver a special discourse. After the ceremony, Guru ka Langar will be served to all devotees.

Bhatia informed that under the guidance of RSS Prant Pracharak Kaushal Ji, the Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Seva Samiti has been organising this commemoration at Bharati Bhavan for the past five years with immense devotion. Similar events are also being held across all district-level RSS offices in Awadh, with participation from local Gurudwaras and members of the community. The central objective, he emphasised, is to connect the younger generation with the sacrifice and valour of the Sikh Gurus who fought against Mughal tyranny.
Sardar Nirmal Singh, head of Gurudwara Alambagh, and representatives of the Seva Samiti stated that various Sikh, Sindhi and Punjabi organisations of Lucknow are extending full support. Prominent individuals present during the press briefing included Manjit Singh Talwar, Arvinder Singh Kohli, Anil Vermaani, Nanakchand Lakhmani, Dr. Gurmeet Singh, Satnam Singh Sethi, J.S. Bohra, Harpal Singh Jaggi, Harmender Singh, Tejinder Singh, Rajendra Singh Bagga Lucky, Dilpreet Singh, Lakhwinder Singh, Ranveer Singh and others. From the RSS, Prashant Bhatia, Surendra Pal Singh Bakhshi, Sachin Gupta and Dr. Umesh were present.
